Job Summary
The Automobile Painter is responsible for preparing and painting vehicles to ensure high-quality finishes that meet customer specifications and industry standards. This includes surface preparation, paint application, color matching, and final detailing.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, sand, and mask vehicle surfaces to prepare for painting.
- Remove rust, dents, and imperfections to ensure smooth paint application.
- Apply primers, basecoats, and clear coats using spray guns or other tools.
- Ensure even application and proper drying times between coats.
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve exact matches or meet custom requirements.
- Use computerized color-matching tools when necessary.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects and correct them as needed.
- Apply finishing touches such as polishing or adding decals.
- Maintain and clean tools, spray guns, and workstations regularly.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of hazardous materials.
- Follow workplace safety standards and handle chemicals responsibly.
- Adhere to environmental regulations related to paint and material disposal.
- Communicate with customers or supervisors to understand requirements and provide updates.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with the final product.
Experience: Minimum: 5 – 8 years of experience as an automobile painter in all types of japan and german cars
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training in automotive painting preferred).
Skills:
- Proficiency in using spray guns, color-matching tools, and other equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Knowledge of automotive paint types, materials, and techniques.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Comfortable working in environments with paint fumes (protective gear provided).
